One of them this year makes me laugh.
The nominees:
Jason Blake - He was diagnosed with leukemia at the beginning of the season and played 82 games while getting cancer treatments.
Fernando Pisani - He suffered from ulcerative colitis at the beginning of the regular season. I’ve read up on this, and apparently a lot of people die from it. He somehow gets better, regains all the weight he lost, and comes back to play all the Oilers’ games from December to the end of the season.
Chris Chelios - He’s old.
