Well this is the first time I’ve had to put an “L” for the game outcome. Hopefully there won’t be too many of those.
The Stars looked pretty bland last night. After the game, Tippett said they were giddy about the trade and the victory over Chicago on Thursday. I wouldn’t call it giddy, more like lethargic and bored. There was hope in the arena for about 10 seconds when Ribeiro scored to make it 2-1, but the third goal really took the life out of everyone.
I thought Brenden played pretty well, but he really should have been more careful around Ellis behind the net because we could have used him on the ice those 5 minutes.
1. David Legwand (I like to refer to him as Mr. DUI)
2. Dan Ellis (he had a really good game. The Stars make good goalies)
3. Mike Ribeiro
In other news, Tampa also lost 5-1 last night against the Canes. Halpern had the only goal. San Jose beat St. Louis 2-0, but even if they win all their games in hand they won’t catch us. Detroit beat Buffalo 4-2 so they’re back to being 5 points ahead of us. That was one of those games when I wouldn’t mind the ice swallowing up all the players.
We’d play Vancouver if the playoffs started today. I’d like another chance against them. I think Dallas is a better team this season and Vancouver isn’t as good as they were last season. Who would you guys like to see our first round matchup be?
Thanks to everyone who mentioned seeing us on TV. I guess we should bring out our Ralph and Razor sign.. they’d probably get a kick out of it.
The Stars game wasn’t the only thing I did in Dallas over the weekend. And since the Stars showed little effort and lost, the Matchbox Twenty concert ended up being the best thing I did all weekend.
